Travel from Mongolia’s granite outcrops and Gobi dunes to the Khangai mountains, Orkhon Valley, Khovsgol Lake and the Darkhad reindeer region. Visit Bichigt Khad and the White Cave, camp around Ikh Bogd, ride horseback through the Naiman Lakes and Orkhon Valley, and explore Kharkhorin, Ugii Lake and Elsen Tasarkhai. Unwind at Tsenkher Hot Springs and Great White Lake before continuing north to Khovsgol and returning through Uran Togoo and Amarbayasgalant Monastery.
Day 1: Explore Baga Gazriin Chuluu’s granite formations, caves and historic rock drawings. Day 2: Walk among the wind-eroded cliffs of Tsagaan Suvarga. Day 3: Hike in Yol Valley. Day 4: Climb the Khongor Sand Dunes, with camel riding. Day 5: Visit Bichigt Khad’s petroglyphs and the White Cave. Days 6–7: Hike and camp around Ikh Bogd Mountain.
Day 8: Travel to Shireetiin Davaa in the protected area and prepare for the horse trek. Days 9–10: Ride through the Naiman Lakes. Day 11: Horse trek toward the Orkhon Valley. Day 12: Visit Ugii Lake before exploring Kharkhorin, Erdene Zuu Monastery and the museum. Day 13: Travel to Elsen Tasarkhai and ride a camel or horse along the dunes for about an hour.
Day 14: Travel to Tsenkher Hot Springs and relax in the evening. Days 15–16: Explore Great White Lake and Khorgo Volcano, including the crater, cave and shoreline. Day 17: Visit Shine-Ider village. Day 18: Return to Murun.
Travel to the Darkhad Depression and meet a local nomadic family. Continue by horse to visit a reindeer herding family, spend time with them and learn about their way of life, then ride back to the base family.
Days 24–25: Explore Khovsgol Lake, including a motorboat trip to Khadan Khui Island. Day 26: Hike to the Uran Togoo crater. Day 27: Visit Amarbayasgalant Monastery. Day 28: Return to Ulaanbaatar.
