Travel from Ulaanbaatar across the Gobi to Tsagaan Suvarga, Yol Valley, Khongor Sand Dunes, Bayanzag and Ongi Monastery. Continue to Ikh Bogd and Orog Lake, then ride through the Eight Lakes and Orkhon Valley before visiting Kharkhorin and returning via Elsen Tasarkhai.
Travel from Ulaanbaatar to Tsagaan Suvarga and explore its wind-carved cliffs, formed from an ancient seabed. Activities include hiking, climbing and sunset viewing. Distance: 450 km on asphalt road.
Drive to Dalanzadgad, where a visit to the historic museum is optional, then continue to Yol Valley. Hike through its narrow canyon, where the river and ice remain in parts of the valley. Overnight at a ger camp. Distance: 200 km on asphalt road.
Continue to the Khongor Sand Dunes. Climb the dunes, ride a camel and enjoy sunset views. Overnight at a ger camp. Distance: 190 km off-road.

Travel into the Khangai mountain range, as the landscape changes from Gobi scenery to grassland. Stay with a nomadic family before the horseback-riding section.
